According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News the Mets and All Star Third Baseman David Wright are now in serious talks for a long term contract extension. Martino claims that the Mets have now made Wright an offer for 7 years or longer in excess of 100 Million dollars. He also believes that a resolution to this matter may come before the winter meetings!
As far as I'm concerned this is great news and any money spent on an extension for David is money very well spent as he is he face of this franchise! Getting this deal done is a step in the right direction and will go along way in showing that this organization is committed to building a winner in the beat future!
