For
the 13th time in the last 17 season the New York Yankees are the
American League Eastern Division Champions. With a 14-2 pounding of
the Boston Red Sox Wednesday night the Yankees won their 18th
division title in franchise history and will have home field
advantage during the playoffs.

After
letting a 10 game lead on July 18th slip away the Yankees stepped up
when it mattered most flexing the muscles in September by going 17-11
and finishing the season with a record of 95-67. They won the AL East
by two games over the Baltimore Orioles.
The
Yankees will play the winner of the wild card play in game between
the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles to see where they will be
flying to to play game one. Game one on the road ? They put up the
best record in baseball and have to travel for game one. So much for
home field advantage. What a joke ! I'll save the MLB playoff
schedule rant for another day.

In
the mean time the Yanks are playing well. Cano is on fire. In the
last six games Cano hit .600 with 7 home runs and 16 RBI's. Russell
Martin finished strong, Curtis Granderson is back to hitting bombs,
and Mark Teixeira is back in the lineup. Let's hope they can keep it
going and get 11 more wins to bring home the their 28th World
Championship !!!!
As
soon as they know who their playing I'll give you my first round
playoff coverage.
LET'S
GO YANKEES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
