Met's Top Pitching Prospect injured in Batting Practice!

By: Mr. Met (Staff Writer for NFLProzach)

New York Met’s Top Pitching Prospect Zack Wheeler was scratched from his start in today’s Spring Training game.  Wheeler has what is described by Met’s GM Sandy Alderson as a mild oblique injury which he suffered today during practice.  Both Wheeler and Alderson downplayed the injury saying it was nothing serious and missing today’s start was just cautionary.  Although, this may appear to be an insignificant injury this early in spring an oblique is something that can linger all year long if not taken care of properly when the injury first occurs.  In any case this spring was supposed to be about the Mets young prospects in particular Wheeler and d’Arnaud showing the front office, Terry Collins, and the fans what they can do.
