According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports The New York Mets have made an offer to David Wright. Wright's Agent has made a counteroffer, however, Rosenthal states that the details of either offer are not known.
Quite frankly I do not care what it takes for the Mets to extend Wright I think they need to get this done. From the reports of Rosenthal it seems the Mets and Wright are now at least going through a business negotiation which is a positive sign of an extension eventually getting done. However, I think the Mets need to be wary of how this plays out and might want to just give David what he wants. They do not have a lot of trust built up with their fan base and this deal getting done quickly can go a long way in starting to restore that trust. It's time to get this deal done and start working towards the season!
