2013 NY JETS NFL MOCK DRAFT ROUNDS 1-7

Assuming the NY JETS end up picking in the middle of rounds 1-7, here is a late October look at who they should draft. If I were Mike Tannenbaum, I would start accumulating more picks immediately. Jeff Fisher of the St. Louis Rams is already putting the word out that players are available and he has a plethora of picks next year! Tanny won't because he is in Tantasy Land! The NY JETS need to start turning over a portion of their roster.

Round 1: Sione Pouha's back is worrisome. Kendrick Ellis is injury prone. Mike DeVito may not be re-signed. #1 position to be addressed.

• Pick: Jesse Williams – DT - Alabama

• Height/Weight: 6'4” - 320

Round 2: Ducasse and Slauson are getting beat. A quality guard who can slide over to tackle is needed. This guy could be a perennial pro bowler.

• Pick: Larry Warford – Guard - Kentucky

Round 3: (From Sanchez or Tebow trade)

Bryan Thomas & Calvin Pace are nearing the end. This mammoth has an enormous wing span with killer speed and quickness. All 6'8” of him! Margus Hunt is an example of the new breed of NFL player. This is from Wikipedia: Margus Hunt (born 14 July 1987 in Karksi-Nuia) is an Estonian multi-sport athlete who competes in the discus throw and shot put in addition to playing college football. He is the former world junior record holder in discus throw.

• Pick: Margus Hunt – DE/OLB – Southern Methodist
• Height / Weight: 6'8” 275

Round 3: I like Sanchez and I like Tebow. Trade one of them to Kansas City or Jacksonville for a 3. Draft this Amish Stud. Projected as a 7^th rounder now, but will climb by the end of the season.

• Pick: Collin Klein – QB – Kansas State

Round 4: (6^th & 7^th picks) Kerley and Stephen Hill are carrying the load. I've traded Holmes for a 5th. Denard is coming out as a WR from Michigan, not a QB. I love this pick! JETS need a possession receiver/play maker...here he is.

• Pick: Denard Robinson – WR – Michigan
• Height/Weight 5'11” 197

Round 4: Josh Mauga is a good back up. Time to start thinking about a future replacement for David Harris.

• Pick: Shayne Skov – ILB – Stanford
• Height/Weight – 6'3” 242

Round 5: More beef and height for an aging defense. This guy is NFL ready!

• Pick: Devin Taylor – DE/OLB – South Carolina

• Height/Weight: 6'7” 267

Round 5: (TRADE: Santonio Holmes to Cowboys for 5th) Eat some salary Tanny for your blunder.

Need more depth here. Antonio Allen and Josh Bush look like they will work out. Could be Eric Smith's last hurrah’s. Williams may not last to the 5^th, but if he does, grab him!
