- The Mets defeated the San Diego Padres last night 8-4 and improved to 2-0 for the season.
- Matt Harvey looked absolutely awesome as he pitched 7 scoreless innings with 10 K's surrendering only 2 Walks and 1 hit over that time!
- Harvey was certainly fun to watch last night as he made the Padre's hitters look inept.
- LaTroy Hawkins and Greg Burke surrendered all 4 runs after Harvey left the game as Bobby Parnell had to come in with 2 outs left in the 9th to close out the game in a non- save situation.
- The Mets offense was paced by 3 two run homers from Lucas Duda, John Buck (who drove in a total of 3 runs), and Ike Davis (whose homer landed near the or on the Shea Bridge). David Wight also added an RBI double.
- The Mets will look for the sweep this afternoon at 1:10 PM.
