Breaking News: Frank Francisco has surgery

By Mr. Met

The New York Mets have announced via twitter that closer Frank Francisco had surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow (pitching elbow).  However, he is expected to start throwing again in 6 weeks and will be ready to go opening day.

 My Take:

This is interesting because Francisco seemed to have reduced velocity last season, which may of contributed to his struggles. Hopefully like the Mets have said Francisco is ready to go on opening day. With that being said he needs to be healthy so he can produce because he was absolutly horrible last year and if hes not better this year the Mets will have to throw a lot of their young guys here right into the fire. So lets hope this surgery clears up whatever health issues Francisco has and hes ready to turn in a solid season.
